South Africa has named its team for the next T20I series against India, with limited overs skipper Temba Bavuma aiming to lead the side to victory in what will be a crucial visit for the Proteas in yet another World Cup year. This will be South Africa's first T20I series after narrowly losing out on a spot in the ICC T20 World Cup semi-finals in 2021. South Africa and India, along with Pakistan and Bangladesh, have been clubbed together for the Super 12 stage of the ICC T20 World Cup, which will be held in Australia in 2022.

The 21-year-old Tristan Stubbs wowed everyone with his power-hitting abilities, scoring 293 runs in seven games at an average of 48.83 and a strike rate of 183.12 at CSA T20 Challenge earns maiden international call-up. Marco Jansen also named in the 16 member squad after bowling impressive in ongoing IPL season for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, Anrich Nortje has been medically cleared and rejoined the Temba Bavuma-led side after recovering from an injury since December 2021. He also plays in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 for the Delhi Capitals (DC). Opener Reeza Hendricks and Wicketkeeper Batsman Heinrich Klaasen have made a return to the Proteas T20 team. Wayne Parnell returns to the T20 set-up for the first time since South Africa tour of England 2017.

The five-match T20I series between India and South Africa will begin on 9th June in Delhi (Arun Jaitley Stadium) and the remaining games will be held in Cuttack(Barabati Stadium), Visakhapatnam(Dr. Y.S.R. ACA VDCA Cricket Stadium), Rajkot (Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium) and Bengaluru(M Chinnaswamy Stadium) respectively.
