Tom Kohler-Cadmore on what it takes to succeed in the DP World ILT20

The English top-order batsman Tom Kohler-Cadmore is prepared to make a comeback to the DP World ILT20 Season 3. He has demonstrated his dynamic batting in T20 competitions throughout the globe. He is committed to leading the Sharjah Warriorz to a historic season in the region's premier T20 competition, which is home to some of the best international cricket players in the globe. This is his third season playing for the Sharjah Warriorz.

Kohler-Cadmore, one of just two centurions in the history of the event, is hopeful that the Sharjah Warriorz can turn things around even though they missed out on a playoff berth in the first two seasons. "I think for us, it's about trying to qualify," he said, clearly expressing his goals for the forthcoming season. I believe it will be beneficial for us if we can qualify and ensure that we go to the knockout stages, given we have had two poor seasons thus far. For my part, I simply want to help as many victories as I can.

At the DP World ILT20, up to nine international players were allowed to be in the starting lineup. The flamboyant batter emphasized each team's strengths and said that each player needs to give it their all in order to succeed. It's quite difficult to continue performing. You know that you must bring your best game to the game because every team has a star-studded lineup; otherwise, you will lose. Everyone in the XI is a match-winner, which is its beauty. It is important to always give it your all and make sure your team stays ahead because there are no easy bowlers to face or batters to dot up and restrict.

Kohler-Cadmore noted areas for improvement in the Sharjah Warriorz's Season 2 campaign, where they finished with eight points from ten games. He said, "I think it's about finding a way to be successful at home," especially in adjusting to the conditions at their home ground in Sharjah. At Sharjah, where we play a lot of games with lower scores, it's important for me and the team to figure out how to play on the slower fields and post a tough score.

"We went too hard last year trying to get scores that were too big instead of actually just getting a competitive score," he continued.

With eight wickets in eight games the previous season, UAE's Muhammad Jawadullah led the Sharjah Warriorz bowling attack. His teammate Junaid Siddique had also performed admirably. Both bowlers were mentioned by Tom Kohler-Cadmore as illustrations of the platform that the DP World ILT20 offers to cricket players in the area.

"This, in my opinion, is a fantastic opportunity for them to demonstrate their abilities. Jawadullah and Junaid, who have emerged as two of our top seamers in recent seasons, are fortunate to remain with us. The beauty of these tournaments is that you always manage to identify young talent and watch their careers blossom. It's been fantastic to watch Jawadullah improve. We weren't sure what to expect, but when he came out for games, he absolutely shined for us," he said.

On Sunday, January 12, the Sharjah Warriorz will play their first game of the season against the Gulf Giants. Kohler-Cadmore wrote in an emotional letter to the supporters, "please keep supporting us and hopefully this year we will bring the trophy home.”

T20 greats like Chris Jordan (Gulf Giants), Shimron Hetmyer (Gulf Giants), Adil Rashid (Sharjah Warriorz Wildcard Pick in Season 2), Akeal Hossein (MI Emirates), Nicholas Pooran (MI Emirates), Sherfane Rutherford (Desert Vipers), Andre Russell (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), Sunil Narine (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), Alex Hales (Desert Vipers), Sherfane Rutherford (Desert Vipers), David Warner (Dubai Capitals), Rovman Powell (Dubai Capitals), and Chris Jordan (Gulf Giants) have all been retained by the six DP World ILT20 franchises.

Jason Roy, the legendary white-ball player for England (Sharjah Warriorz), is back in the league after playing twice for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders the previous season. The addition of England all-rounder Gus Atkinson, who will also be playing 10 games for Desert Vipers in the first season of the DP World ILT20, has further strengthened the Sharjah Warriorz.

Jason Holder, an all-around player who played for the Dubai Capitals the previous season, will play for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.

Furthermore, Season 3 will see the DP World ILT20 debuts of Fakhar Zaman (Desert Vipers), Shai Hope (Dubai Capitals), Lockie Ferguson (Desert Vipers), Roston Chase (Abu Dhabi Knight Riders), Matthew Wade (Sharjah Warriorz), Ibrahim Zadran (Gulf Giants), and Romario Shepherd (MI Emirates).

The dates of the DP World ILT20's third season are set for January 11–February 9, 2025.
