India thrash West Indies by 119 runs to complete the series 3-0

India's brilliant performance in the rain-shortened match guided them to a dominant win. They won the series 3-0 after thrashing the West Indies by 119 runs (DLS method). Earlier in the day, the openers Dhawan-Gill set India off to a great start with a 113-run partnership. Dhawan left before the first rain break, but Gill kept going and had another crucial partnership with Iyer after that. After the first rain break, the play was reduced to 40 overs on each side, but there was another when Shubman Gill was 98*. The opener had a chance to get his first ODI century, but rain ruined his plans. India's innings concluded on 225/3 in 36 overs, and the West Indies' revised total was a mammoth 257 in 35 overs (DLS Method).

Mohammad Siraj gave India a brilliant start by dismissing Dangerous Kyle Mayers and Brooks in his first over while chasing a mammoth total. West Indies would never be able to recover from those two blows. Pooran and Brandon King attempted to fight, but both were departed on 40s. India continued to take wickets at regular intervals, with Yuzi Chahal finishing the tailenders with a four-wicket haul. Chahal's four-fer includes Shai Hope's wicket in addition to the final three. West Indies were never in the game, and as a result of their poor effort, they suffer their ninth consecutive ODI defeat in 2022.

Shubman Gill was awarded as Man of the Match and Player of the series. Many questioned his selection over Ruturaj and Shaw whose FC stats were spectacular. However Shubman Gill replied to his critics with his class.
