Dawid Malan, the England cricketer, has officially announced his retirement from international cricket at the age of 37. He made this decision after not being selected for England's upcoming white-ball series against Australia. Malan expressed satisfaction with his achievements, highlighting that while Test cricket was his childhood dream, his success in white-ball formats, including becoming the top-ranked T20I batter and scoring centuries in all three formats, was particularly gratifying.
Malan's international career spanned seven years, during which he played 22 Tests, 30 ODIs, and 62 T20Is, amassing over 4,400 runs. He was a key figure in England's T20 World Cup-winning campaign in 2022 and is one of only two England men's cricketers, along with Jos Buttler, to have scored centuries in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Following his retirement from international play, Malan plans to focus on franchise cricket and spend more time with his family.
