The father of former Indian cricket player Yuvraj Singh, Yograj Singh, has been in the news lately for his harsh criticism of MS Dhoni. Yograj has frequently voiced his opinion that Dhoni is to blame for allegedly ruining Yuvraj's cricket career.
According to Yograj Singh's most recent remarks, Dhoni "ruining" his son's career, since Yuvraj could have played for many more years if Dhoni hadn't done what he did. He said he would "never forgive" Dhoni, highlighting the fact that Dhoni's actions could not be justified. This outburst is a part of Yograj's long-standing grudge, as he feels that Dhoni was a major factor in Yuvraj's decision to withdraw from international cricket early.
Yograj has gone so far as to demand that Yuvraj receive the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cricket, particularly for his performance in the 2011 World Cup, which India won under Dhoni's captaincy. This suggests that there is a deep personal tension between Dhoni and Yograj.
Even with Yograj Singh's enmity, Yuvraj and Dhoni have experienced many special moments together on the field, including pivotal alliances that helped India win important competitions like the 2011 ODI World Cup and the 2007 T20 World Cup. Though it seems that these off-field problems have affected their connection in later years, their friendship and on-field partnership was significant in India's cricketing history.
