Abhinav Manohar Lights Up Rain Hit Maharaja Trophy Clash With Stunning 12 Ball Blitz
Abhinav Manohar delivered one of the most explosive knocks of the DACSS Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 season, smashing an unbeaten 46 off just 12 balls before persistent rain forced the contest between Hubli Tigers and Mysore Warriors to end without a result. While both teams shared one point each, the evening belonged entirely to Abhinav Manohar, whose breathtaking power-hitting entertained the fans despite the shortened contest.
Reduced to an eight-over-per-side match because of rain in Hubballi, Hubli Tigers found themselves in serious trouble after a shaky start. With wickets falling early and two batters retiring hurt, the innings desperately needed someone to change the momentum. That responsibility was taken up brilliantly by Abhinav Manohar, who completely transformed the game with fearless stroke play.
The Tigers managed only 27 for 2 after five overs before another rain interruption. Kruthik Krishna had contributed a useful 23 from 19 deliveries before retiring hurt, while Hardik Raj also walked off injured after scoring two runs. The reduced format meant there was little room for recovery, but Abhinav Manohar ensured Hubli Tigers finished with a highly competitive total.
Walking in with the pressure mounting, Abhinav Manohar wasted no time in attacking the bowling. The right-handed batter launched an incredible assault on the Mysore Warriors attack, hammering two boundaries and six towering sixes during his sensational innings. His clean striking completely changed the complexion of the match within a matter of deliveries.
The highlight of Abhinav Manohar's innings came against experienced pacer Vyshak Vijaykumar. The over disappeared for massive runs as the Hubli Tigers batter smashed six, four, six and another six in one unforgettable spell of hitting. He carried the momentum into the final over by clearing the ropes repeatedly before eventually being dismissed off the last delivery of the innings.
His remarkable 46 from just 12 balls powered Hubli Tigers to 91 for 6 in their allotted eight overs. It was another reminder of Abhinav Manohar's reputation as one of Karnataka cricket's most destructive finishers. Cricket fans will remember his extraordinary 2024 Maharaja Trophy campaign when he smashed an astonishing 52 sixes for Shivamogga Lions, including three innings featuring nine maximums.
Although Ritesh Bhatkal impressed with the ball by claiming two wickets for only 10 runs, his efforts were overshadowed by the remarkable batting display from Abhinav Manohar.
Unfortunately, the rain returned before Mysore Warriors could begin their chase, forcing the match officials to abandon the game. Both teams were awarded one point each from the no-result encounter.
The shared points did little to improve either side's position in the standings. Hubli Tigers remain fifth on the points table with six points from seven matches after recording two victories, three defeats and two no-results. Mysore Warriors continue in sixth place with five points, having secured two wins, four losses and one abandoned game.
Meanwhile, Kalyani Bengaluru Blasters continue to lead the Maharaja Trophy standings with 12 points, followed by Coastal Kings Mangaluru, Gulbarga Mystics and Shivamogga Yodhas.
Despite the disappointing weather interruption, Abhinav Manohar provided the biggest talking point of the day. His explosive batting reminded everyone why he remains one of the most dangerous T20 batters in domestic cricket. As the tournament enters its crucial phase, Hubli Tigers will hope Abhinav Manohar can continue producing such match-changing performances and help the team climb the points table in the remaining fixtures.
