New Delhi, August 26, 2024: In Monday's 15th Adani Delhi Premier League T20 encounter at Arun Jaitley Stadium, South Delhi Superstarz defeated Purani Dilli 6 by an incredible 88 runs.

The game's standout player was Priyansh Arya, who recorded the first-ever century in the DPLT20 and is currently the tournament's top run scorer. His undefeated 107* off 55, which included seven sixes and nine fours, helped the team reach a massive 20-over total of 235/3.

Purani Dilli 6 could only muster 147/9 in 20 overs of reply as South Delhi Superstarz bowled with discipline. The standout bowler was Digvesh Rati, who returned with remarkable figures of 3/13. Anshuman Hooda, an impact player, and Vision Panchal each claimed two wickets.

With tight bowling, South Delhi Superstarz defended the total, building on the momentum set by their hitters. On the final ball of the Powerplay, Kuldip Yadav dismissed Arpit Rana (29 off 19), leaving Purani Dilli 6 at 43/1.

Then, Digvesh Rathi unleashed mayhem, taking three wickets in his next two overs. In the twelfth over, he removed Arnav Bugga (36 off 37) and dismissed Keshav Dalal (15 off 10), packing up skipper Lalit Yadav (0 off 1) to reduce Purani Dilli 6 to 90/4.

Vansh Bedi demonstrated tenacity by scoring a rapid 27 off 12 balls, but in the 14th over against Vision Panchal, Sumit Mathur caught him at third man. In the 15th and 16th overs, respectively, Mayank Gusain (6 off 10) and Sambhav Sharma (0 off 4) were the next to fall. Purani Dilli 6 lost seven wickets and had 123 runs on the board by the last strategic break, which eliminated them from the game.

Anshuman Hooda bowled a clean over in the final over to remove Aayush Singh Thakur, while Deepanshu Gulia removed Shivam Sharma (6 off 6) to help South Delhi Superstarz secure a commanding victory.

South Delhi Superstarz, assigned to bat first, got off to a quick start as Sarthak Ray and Priyansh Arya guided the team to 52 in the Powerplay. Ray played with a lot of aggression, but Arya was more measured. The two moved the team's total to 100 quite fast. But in the twelfth over, Ray was caught and bowled by Shivam Sharma, denying him a half-century by only one run. Arya reached his fifty in 34 balls during that same over.

After that, Arya and Ayush Badoni formed a partnership and dominated the Purani Dilli 6 bowlers, scoring runs at a breakneck clip. With the team cruising at 184/1 by the 17th over, Badoni had reached his fifty in just 18 balls. Arya was removed in the next over, but he was still on track to score a large amount. In the eighteenth over, he and Tejasvi Dahiya collaborated to push the team past the 200-run threshold.

In just 53 balls, Arya reached his century in the penultimate over. Arya's free-flowing strokes enabled South Delhi Superstarz achieve a gigantic total of 235/3 in 20 overs, surpassing the tournament's overall greatest team total scored by themselves just yesterday. Dahiya delivered a quickfire 18 off 8 before falling in the last over.

Prince Yadav took two wickets and gave up 41 runs in his four overs against Purani Dilli 6.
