The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced an updated schedule and venue list for India’s 2025 international home season, including matches involving South Africa A, Australia A, West Indies, and Australia Women. The adjustments come in the wake of logistical requirements, pitch renovations, and strategic scheduling aimed at better crowd engagement and preparation for future ICC events.

Cricket fans can now mark their calendars with the updated venues as India gears up for an action-packed home season that spans from September to December 2025, featuring both senior and A teams in multi-format contests.

West Indies Tour of India 2025: A Shift in Test Venues

Team India will host West Indies in a two-match Test series to kick off their home red-ball campaign. The first Test is scheduled from October 2 to 6 at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, the second Test, initially slated for Eden Gardens in Kolkata, has been relocated to the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. This strategic change gives the capital an early slice of Test cricket ahead of the busy season while accommodating pitch restoration efforts in the eastern region.

The series will be crucial as it falls under the ICC World Test Championship cycle and will provide India with the opportunity to secure key points early in their campaign.

South Africa Tour of India: Big-Match Venues and Strategic Engagement

The much-anticipated South Africa tour of India is another major attraction in the latter half of 2025. Beginning on November 14, the first Test match will now be held at the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, instead of New Delhi as originally scheduled. The second Test will take place in Guwahati, a venue steadily rising in popularity due to its fan enthusiasm and modern infrastructure.

The three-match ODI series that follows spans Ranchi, Raipur, and Visakhapatnam, three cities that have hosted high-pressure fixtures in recent years and continue to deliver strong turnouts. The tour concludes with a five-match T20I series across Cuttack, New Chandigarh, Dharamsala, Lucknow, and a to-be-confirmed final venue, with each city eager to witness international T20 cricket under the lights.

India A vs South Africa A: Development Series Relocated for Greater Reach

In a move to increase regional cricket reach, the South Africa A tour of India will begin on October 30 with two multi-day matches to be held at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (COE) in Bengaluru, known for its world-class facilities and training infrastructure.

However, the limited-overs leg of the tour has been shifted from M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot, a decision made to accommodate venue upgrades in Bengaluru and to spread A-team cricket to newer regions. This adjustment ensures fans in western India get their share of top-tier developmental cricket and provides promising players a chance to perform in varying conditions.

Australia Women’s Tour: Chennai Out, Chandigarh In

The Australia Women’s tour of India, comprising three ODIs, has also undergone a venue overhaul. Originally planned to be hosted in Chennai, the matches have now been reassigned due to the ongoing revamp of the outfield and pitches at MA Chidambaram Stadium.

The first two ODIs will now take place at the New PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh, a newly established cricket venue gaining popularity for hosting domestic and international fixtures. The third ODI will be held at Arun Jaitley Stadium, ensuring that the capital gets a share of the women’s cricket spotlight. This tour is expected to serve as a key preparatory event for both sides ahead of the ICC Women’s ODI Championship.

Australia A Tour of India: Lucknow and Kanpur to Host

Meanwhile, Australia A will take on India A in a tour comprising two multi-day matches and three one-day games. All five games will be played in Uttar Pradesh, with Lucknow hosting the four-day encounters and Kanpur set to stage the limited-overs games. The scheduling offers consistency in pitch behavior and provides domestic players familiar conditions to fine-tune their game.
