Chris Silverwood Joins Sharjah Warriorzs as Bowling coach for ILT20 Season 3

With great pleasure, the Sharjah Warriorz announce that Chris Silverwood will be their new bowling coach for the DP World ILT20 season. He becomes a part of Sharjah Warriorz's coaching staff alongside Head Coach JP Duminy.

One of the most respected coaches in cricket, Silverwood began working with the England men's national team as a full-time bowling coach in 2018. Following Trevor Bayliss's resignation in October 2019, Silverwood assumed leadership of the squad. The former fast bowler remained in that capacity until February 2022, at which point he left to become Sri Lanka's head coach. He arrived in April 2022 and helped the team win the T20 Asia Cup and advance to the 2023 ODI Asia Cup finals. He just concluded his tenure alongside Head Coach Tom Moody as the bowling coach of the Oval Invincbles, who went on to win the 2024 Hundred competition in England.

Tom Dawson-Squibb, a South African performance coach who genuinely develops winning attitudes and behaviors in people and teams, will be joining Silverwood and Duminy in the dugout. Having been a member of the sports world for nearly twenty years, Dawson-Squibb has also worked with the South African cricket team and the Netherlands national team in addition to having three periods in professional rugby.

"I am delighted to be joining the Sharjah Warriorz, who have put together a very strong and exciting squad for the upcoming edition of the ILT20," bowling coach Chris Silverwood said in a statement on the occasion. The lineup is full of youth, experience, and energy, and I have no doubt that when we all work together, we can consistently cause problems for the opposing batters.

"The ILT20 is the most active event with the greatest representation from abroad players. We were eager to bring in coaches with expertise and a grasp of the subtle cultural differences among subcontinental cricket players, and we think Chris is the perfect fit. Kshemal Waingankar, COO of Sharjah Warriorz, stated, "Tom, on the other side, has contributed significantly to the development of the South African squad over the past few seasons. We are pleased to see him work with JP and the rest of the Leadership group to transform the Warriorz into a formidable force.
