The Delhi Premier League (DPL) is all set to return for its highly anticipated third season, with the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) confirming that the tournament will run from July 31 to August 30, 2026. Before the action begins on the field, franchises will build their squads during the Delhi Premier League player auction on July 1, setting the stage for another exciting chapter in Delhi's domestic cricket journey.

With several Indian internationals and IPL stars expected to participate, Season 3 is poised to be the biggest edition of the tournament so far.

Delhi Premier League Continues to Grow

Over the last two seasons, the Delhi Premier League has established itself as one of India's leading state franchise competitions, providing a platform for experienced professionals and emerging cricketers to showcase their skills.

The previous edition saw West Delhi Lions, led by Nitish Rana, lift their maiden DPL title after defeating Central Delhi Kings by six wickets in the final.

In the women's competition, South Delhi Superstarz, captained by Shweta Sehrawat, emerged champions after overcoming Central Delhi Queens in a memorable final.

The success of both competitions has significantly boosted the profile of cricket in the national capital.

DDCA Eyes Another Successful Season

DDCA President Rohan Jaitley expressed confidence that the tournament will continue to strengthen Delhi's cricket structure.

According to Jaitley, the Delhi Premier League has evolved into a crucial talent identification platform, helping several players progress to higher levels of domestic and professional cricket.

DDCA Vice-President Shikha Kumar highlighted the growing importance of the women's competition, noting that it has created valuable opportunities and increased visibility for women cricketers across the capital.

Secretary Ashok Sharma added that the player auction remains one of the most exciting phases of the tournament, allowing franchises to build competitive squads and develop strategies ahead of the season.

Eight Men's Teams and Four Women's Teams

The month-long competition will feature eight men's franchises:

  • Central Delhi Kings

  • East Delhi Riders

  • New Delhi Tigers

  • North Delhi Strikers

  • Outer Delhi Warriors

  • Purani Dilli 6

  • South Delhi Superstarz

  • West Delhi Lions

The women's competition will include four teams:

  • Central Delhi Kings Women

  • East Delhi Riders Women

  • North Delhi Strikers Women

  • South Delhi Superstarz Women
