England vs India 4th T20I Harry Brook and Phil Salt Power England to Historic Series Win
The England vs India 4th T20I delivered another commanding performance from the hosts as Harry Brook and Phil Salt powered England to a crushing nine-wicket victory in Bristol. The emphatic win not only sealed the five-match series with one game remaining but also marked England's first-ever bilateral T20I series triumph over India.
The England vs India 4th T20I began with India looking to bounce back after successive defeats, but England once again showcased why they have become one of the strongest white-ball teams in world cricket. Their disciplined bowling attack restricted India to a below-par total before the batters completed the chase with remarkable ease.
India's innings revolved almost entirely around captain Shreyas Iyer. Walking in after early wickets, Iyer produced a superb unbeaten 80 from just 49 deliveries, displaying both composure and attacking intent. His innings included four boundaries and five towering sixes, making him the only Indian batter to look comfortable against England's varied bowling attack.
Unfortunately for India, no other batter managed to provide meaningful support. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube and Tilak Varma all failed to convert their starts as England's bowlers maintained relentless pressure throughout the innings.
The England vs India 4th T20I once again highlighted England's successful pace strategy. Jofra Archer and Josh Tongue consistently used short-pitched deliveries to trouble India's top order, while Sam Curran mixed his pace intelligently on a surface offering variable bounce. Archer finished with two wickets, Tongue claimed two more, and England ensured India could only post 158 for 7.
Chasing 159, England lost Jos Buttler early after Arshdeep Singh struck in the powerplay. However, that proved to be India's only success of the evening.
Harry Brook and Phil Salt immediately took control of the chase with an extraordinary unbeaten partnership that completely dismantled India's bowling attack. Brook continued his outstanding run of form by smashing an unbeaten 79 from just 35 deliveries, while Salt complemented him perfectly with a fluent unbeaten 59.
The pair added an unbroken 146 runs for the second wicket, reaching the target in only 13.5 overs with 37 balls remaining. Their aggressive stroke play ensured India never had an opportunity to fight their way back into the contest.
The England vs India 4th T20I also underlined England's remarkable consistency under Harry Brook's captaincy. The victory was England's nineteenth win in their last twenty-two completed T20 Internationals, further strengthening their credentials ahead of future ICC tournaments.
For India, the defeat extended a disappointing run during a period of transition under new captain Shreyas Iyer. While Iyer's personal form has been encouraging throughout the series, the batting unit has struggled collectively, particularly against England's disciplined pace attack.
India's inability to build partnerships and adapt to England's bowling plans proved costly once again. Apart from Iyer, the visitors lacked the composure required to post a competitive total against an experienced English attack.
With this victory, England moved one step closer to becoming the world's number one ranked T20I side. A win in the final match would complete a clean sweep and replace India at the top of the ICC rankings.
The England vs India 4th T20I will be remembered for England's complete dominance, Harry Brook's outstanding leadership, Phil Salt's explosive batting, and another clinical team performance that secured a historic T20I series victory against one of the strongest sides in world cricket.
