The All-India Men's Selection Committee has unveiled India's 15-member squad for the upcoming IDFC FIRST Bank T20I series against Bangladesh. Following the conclusion of the Test series, India will face Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, starting on October 6, 2024. The matches are scheduled to be held at Gwalior, New Delhi, and Hyderabad.
Key Highlights of India’s Squad
Suryakumar Yadav, one of India's most dynamic T20I players, will lead the squad. He has been named captain for the series, bringing his experience and attacking brand of cricket to the forefront. Sanju Samson will serve as the wicketkeeper, alongside Jitesh Sharma, who also finds a place in the squad.
All-rounders like Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube add balance to the team, offering both batting depth and bowling options. Abhishek Sharma, who has impressed with his ability to perform in multiple roles, has also been included.
The selection committee has introduced some promising young talents such as Nitish Kumar Reddy and Riyan Parag, who have been steadily making a mark in domestic cricket. Rinku Singh, who has been in sensational form in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has also earned a well-deserved spot in the team.
India’s spin attack will be led by Ravi Bishnoi, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Washington Sundar, giving India a variety of spin options to counter Bangladesh’s batting lineup. The pace department will be spearheaded by Arshdeep Singh, with Harshit Rana and Mayank Yadav providing further firepower.
