The All-India Men's Selection Committee has unveiled India's 15-member squad for the upcoming IDFC FIRST Bank T20I series against Bangladesh. Following the conclusion of the Test series, India will face Bangladesh in a three-match T20I series, starting on October 6, 2024. The matches are scheduled to be held at Gwalior, New Delhi, and Hyderabad.

Key Highlights of India’s Squad

Suryakumar Yadav, one of India's most dynamic T20I players, will lead the squad. He has been named captain for the series, bringing his experience and attacking brand of cricket to the forefront. Sanju Samson will serve as the wicketkeeper, alongside Jitesh Sharma, who also finds a place in the squad.

All-rounders like Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube add balance to the team, offering both batting depth and bowling options. Abhishek Sharma, who has impressed with his ability to perform in multiple roles, has also been included.

The selection committee has introduced some promising young talents such as Nitish Kumar Reddy and Riyan Parag, who have been steadily making a mark in domestic cricket. Rinku Singh, who has been in sensational form in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has also earned a well-deserved spot in the team.

Bangladesh Series: A Vital T20I Assignment for India

The series is crucial as India looks to fine-tune their squad and strategies ahead of major T20I tournaments in the near future. Bangladesh has always posed a stiff challenge in the shortest format, and with both teams preparing for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, this series will be an opportunity to test combinations and give young players a platform to shine.

The venues — Gwalior, New Delhi, and Hyderabad — are expected to offer different challenges, from spin-friendly conditions to high-scoring surfaces, providing a complete test for both teams.

With a mix of experienced players and young talent, the Indian squad is well-balanced and ready to take on the challenge posed by Bangladesh.
