India U19 Squad Announced for Sri Lanka Tour 2026
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially unveiled the India U19 Squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka Tour 2026, with promising youngster Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan entrusted with captaincy duties. The tour presents another important chapter in India's youth cricket development pathway as the next generation of stars prepare to test themselves in overseas conditions.
The India U19 team will play three One-Day matches and two Multi-Day fixtures during the tour, scheduled to begin in July. The series will offer valuable international exposure to several talented cricketers aiming to establish themselves on the national stage.
Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan to Lead India U19 Team
One of the biggest highlights of the squad announcement is the appointment of Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan as captain. The limited-overs segment of the Sri Lanka Tour 2026 will be played entirely in Hambantota. The three-match ODI series is scheduled as follows:
1st One-Day: July 4
2nd One-Day: July 6
3rd One-Day: July 9
The ODI squad features exciting names including Sagar Virk, Vineeth V K, Arjun Rajput, Kushagra Ojha, Rajat Baghel, Anvay Dravid, Anmoljeet Singh and Rohit Anil Yadav.
The wicketkeeping responsibilities for the ODI squad will be shared between Rajat Baghel and Anvay Dravid, providing flexibility and depth to the batting lineup.
Multi Day Challenge Awaits in Galle and Colombo
Following the white-ball series, India will shift focus to red-ball cricket. The longer format fixtures will allow players to showcase their temperament, technique and endurance.
The first Multi-Day match will take place in Galle from July 13 to 16, while the second fixture is scheduled in Colombo from July 20 to 23.
For the longer format, Manav Krishna and Aryan Sandesh Sakpal have been selected as wicketkeepers. The squad also includes promising talents such as Patel Kush, Manal Chauhan, Hemchudeshan J, BK Kishore, Priyanshu Singh and Pranav Raghvendra.
