Karandeep Kochhar Secures Top 10 Finish At Bharath Classic As Charlie Lindh Clinches Title In Morocco
Indian golfer Karandeep Kochhar continued his impressive run on the Asian Tour by securing another top-10 finish at the USD 500,000 IGPL Bharath Classic in El Jadida, Morocco. The Chandigarh-based golfer produced a flawless final-round performance to finish tied ninth, while Sweden's Charlie Lindh stormed to a memorable victory with the best round of the tournament.
The result marked Kochhar's third top-10 finish of the 2026 Asian Tour season and further strengthened his position in the Order of Merit standings. It also highlighted the growing consistency of one of India's most promising golfing talents.
Karandeep Kochhar Delivers Another Strong Performance
Kochhar entered the final round with an opportunity to climb the leaderboard and responded with a composed bogey-free round of 68. He finished the tournament at 11-under-par after rounds of 66, 73, 70 and 68.
The Indian golfer looked in complete control throughout the final day. Birdies on the third, tenth, eleventh and fourteenth holes helped him card a four-under-par round and secure a share of ninth place.
One of the biggest positives from Kochhar's week was his excellent ball striking. He consistently found fairways and greens in regulation, allowing him to create multiple scoring opportunities. Although putting remained an area where he could have gained additional strokes, his overall performance was another encouraging sign in a season filled with steady progress.
The top-10 finish has moved Kochhar up to 12th place in the Asian Tour Order of Merit, keeping him firmly in contention for a strong season-ending ranking.
Charlie Lindh Produces Championship Winning Finish
While Kochhar impressed, the tournament belonged to Sweden's Charlie Lindh.
Starting the final round three shots behind the leader, Lindh delivered a sensational eight-under-par 64 to finish at 18-under-par and win the Bharath Classic by four strokes. His remarkable performance included an eagle on the 18th hole that sealed a dominant victory.
The Swede arrived in Morocco with confidence after finishing runner-up at the Kolon Korea Open and carried that momentum into another outstanding week. His victory also lifted him to third place in the Asian Tour Order of Merit standings.
American Charles Porter briefly challenged for the title and shared the lead late in the round. However, a costly double bogey on the final hole dropped him into a tie for second place alongside Thailand's Settee Prakongvech.
Indian Golfers Show Promise
Several Indian golfers produced respectable performances during the week.
Veteran Gaganjeet Bhullar and Yashas Chandra finished tied 27th at six-under-par. Bhullar closed with a solid 68, while Yashas also signed off with a bogey-free round.
Rashid Khan, Kartik Singh and Sachin Baisoya finished tied 41st. Baisoya's final-round 67 featured two eagles, making it one of the most exciting rounds among the Indian contingent.
Elsewhere, Shaurya Bhattacharya, Aman Raj, Pukhraj Singh Gill, Raghav Chugh and Udayan Mane completed the tournament further down the leaderboard, while amateur Jai Bahl gained valuable experience against a strong international field.
Focus Shifts To International Series Morocco
With another encouraging result added to his season, Kochhar will now turn his attention to the USD 2 million International Series Morocco in Rabat.
The Indian golfer has shown impressive consistency throughout 2026 and continues to edge closer to a breakthrough Asian Tour victory. If he can maintain the form displayed in Morocco this week, Kochhar could soon emerge as a genuine title contender on one of professional golf's most competitive circuits.
For Indian golf fans, his latest top-10 finish offers further evidence that a maiden Asian Tour title may not be far away.
