Host nation USA will automatically qualify for both competitions if it appears inside the top 15 of the ICC T20I Rankings during the qualification period.

Special Provision for West Indies

One of the unique aspects of the qualification system concerns the West Indies.

Unlike other cricket teams, the West Indies represents multiple Caribbean nations rather than a single National Olympic Committee. Since the Olympic Games require individual nations to compete separately, the Caribbean side cannot participate as one team.

If the West Indies finishes among the highest-ranked non-qualified teams, a dedicated Caribbean Qualifier will determine which eligible nation advances to the ICC Olympics Qualifier.

This solution ensures compliance with Olympic regulations while preserving opportunities for Caribbean nations to reach Los Angeles.

The men's and women's tournaments will each feature two groups of three teams.
