MPL T20 Scindia Cup 2026 Rajat Patidar Powers Gwalior Cheetahs To Dominant Victory As Chambal Ghariyals Stay In Contention
The MPL T20 Scindia Cup 2026 delivered another exciting day of cricket in Indore as Gwalior Cheetahs and Chambal Ghariyals registered important victories to strengthen their positions in the tournament. While India batter Rajat Patidar produced a captain's knock to lead Gwalior Cheetahs to a commanding win over Malwa Stallions, Chambal Ghariyals held their nerve to defeat Royal Nimar Eagles in a closely fought contest.
Rajat Patidar Leads From The Front
Gwalior Cheetahs showcased their batting strength after being asked to bat first at the Daly College Ground. The innings revolved around skipper Rajat Patidar, who played a breathtaking knock of 65 runs from just 30 deliveries.
Patidar attacked from the outset and punished anything loose, smashing six boundaries and four sixes during his explosive innings. His aggressive approach shifted the momentum firmly in Gwalior's favour and laid the platform for a challenging total.
Parth Chaudhary contributed a steady 38 off 34 balls at the top of the order, while Mangesh Yadav provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 33 from only 17 deliveries. Their efforts helped Gwalior Cheetahs post an imposing 190/7 in 20 overs.
For Malwa Stallions, Vineet Rawat was the standout bowler with four wickets, while Harshvardhan Singh picked up three scalps. However, the bowlers struggled to contain Patidar's attacking strokeplay.
Gwalior Bowlers Seal The Deal
Chasing 191, Malwa Stallions never found the rhythm required for a successful pursuit. Rakesh Thakur fought hard with 33 runs, while Ansh Yadav added a quick-fire 30. Beyond those contributions, the batting lineup failed to build meaningful partnerships.
The Gwalior bowling attack maintained pressure throughout the innings. Ishan Afridi and Saumy Pandey claimed three wickets each, while Akash Raghuwanshi and Mangesh Yadav chipped in with crucial breakthroughs.
Malwa Stallions were eventually bowled out for 139 in 17.1 overs, handing Gwalior Cheetahs a convincing 51-run victory. Rajat Patidar was deservedly named Player of the Match for his match-winning innings.
Chambal Ghariyals Edge Past Royal Nimar Eagles
At the Holkar Stadium, Chambal Ghariyals secured a valuable four-wicket win against Royal Nimar Eagles in a contest that remained competitive until the closing stages.
The Eagles struggled to build momentum after losing opener Himanshu Mantri early. Kanishk Dubey scored 23, while Anand Bais and Abhishek Mavi contributed 28 runs each. Despite these starts, regular wickets prevented the batting side from posting a bigger total.
Royal Nimar Eagles finished on 145/9 in 20 overs. Mayur Singh Patel starred with the ball for Chambal Ghariyals, returning impressive figures of 3/28. Akshay Singh and Tripuresh Singh also played important roles with the ball.
Calm Finish Under Pressure
Chasing 146, Chambal Ghariyals began positively through Ankush Singh and Apurve Dwivedi. Captain Shubham Sharma later added stability with a crucial partnership alongside Gautam Raghuwanshi.
The Eagles fought back admirably and reduced the Ghariyals to 132/6, creating late drama. However, Harsh Dixit and Tripuresh Singh displayed excellent composure in the closing overs.
Their unbeaten partnership guided Chambal Ghariyals across the finish line with more than two overs remaining, securing a crucial victory that could prove vital in the race for the knockout stages.
With Rajat Patidar finding top form and Chambal Ghariyals continuing to collect important points, the MPL T20 Scindia Cup 2026 is building towards an exciting second half of the tournament.
