BLACKCAPS & WHITE FERNS Home Games Return to Sky
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has finalized a groundbreaking six-year broadcast agreement with Sky, ensuring BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS home internationals will be aired on the Kiwi broadcaster from the 2026-27 season through to 2031-32. This marks a return to Sky after a hiatus since 2020, reinforcing the broadcaster's commitment to New Zealand’s cricket fans.
NZC chief executive Scott Weenink emphasized the importance of securing this long-term domestic broadcasting partnership, which guarantees accessibility and high-quality coverage for fans nationwide. He expressed enthusiasm about the renewed collaboration, stating, “We’re delighted to form this new partnership with Sky and to be able to ensure the best possible access for Kiwi-based fans. We look forward to working with Sky to continue to deliver outstanding production values and cutting-edge technology for the benefit of all supporters.”
The transition back to Sky follows NZC’s previous broadcasting arrangements with Spark and TVNZ. Weenink acknowledged their contributions, particularly TVNZ, which will continue to air BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS home internationals, along with the Dream11 Super Smash, until the end of next summer. He also hinted at potential future partnerships with TVNZ for free-to-air T20Is and the Dream11 Super Smash.
Sky’s chief executive, Sophie Moloney, expressed excitement over the return of New Zealand’s cricketing action to their platforms. “Sport fans across New Zealand love their cricket, and we are delighted to be bringing BLACKCAPS and WHITE FERNS home internationals back to Sky and our valued customers,” she said.
Moloney reassured fans that both Sky and NZC are committed to making cricket accessible to New Zealanders, incorporating free-to-air options to ensure wider audience reach. Further details on the broadcasting framework will be revealed closer to the 2026-27 season.
The current agreement strictly pertains to home internationals, while separate announcements will be made regarding free-to-access broadcasting options for the Dream11 Super Smash competition.
This deal marks a significant milestone for New Zealand cricket, securing the sport’s presence on one of the country’s most well-established broadcast networks and ensuring cricket lovers have uninterrupted access to their favorite matches.
