SRH’s 255-Run Carnage Shocks RCB: Ishan Kishan and Klaasen Turn Hyderabad Into a Run-Machine

SRH Batting Storm Leaves RCB Helpless in IPL 2026 Run Festival

Sunrisers Hyderabad produced absolute batting destruction in Hyderabad as they defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 55 runs in one of the highest-scoring matches of IPL 2026. The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium turned into a nightmare for RCB bowlers as SRH smashed a gigantic 255/4 in 20 overs, powered by explosive knocks from Ishan Kishan, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen.

From the very first over, Hyderabad looked dangerous. The opening duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma attacked aggressively and completely dominated the powerplay. SRH reached 63 runs inside the first six overs, putting RCB under pressure immediately.

The first big partnership came between Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Together, they added 45 runs in just 24 balls, giving Hyderabad the perfect platform for a massive total. Even after Head departed for a quick 26 off 16 balls, SRH never slowed down.

Abhishek Sharma then continued his fearless batting masterclass. The explosive left-hander smashed 56 runs from only 22 balls, including massive sixes against Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. His partnership with Ishan Kishan completely changed the momentum of the innings. The duo added 52 runs in just 26 deliveries, leaving the RCB bowling attack completely helpless.

The biggest turning point of the match came during the middle overs when Heinrich Klaasen joined Ishan Kishan. What followed was pure destruction. Klaasen hammered 51 runs off just 24 balls, while Ishan Kishan controlled the innings brilliantly from the other end.

Their partnership became the backbone of SRH’s massive total. Klaasen and Kishan added a stunning 113-run partnership in only 48 balls, one of the best middle-over partnerships of IPL 2026. Boundaries kept flowing continuously as RCB bowlers failed to find answers under pressure.

Ishan Kishan eventually finished with a sensational 79 runs off 46 balls, including 8 fours and 3 sixes, earning him the Player of the Match award. Nitish Kumar Reddy then provided the final explosion with an unbeaten 29 off 12 balls, helping SRH finish with a massive 255/4.

RCB’s bowling unit had one of their toughest nights this season. Every frontline bowler leaked runs heavily. Hazlewood conceded 55 runs, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar gave away 51 runs. Rasikh Salam Dar picked up two wickets but still conceded above 13 runs per over.

Despite chasing an impossible target, RCB started aggressively through Venkatesh Iyer, who smashed 44 runs off just 19 balls. Bengaluru raced to 75 runs in the powerplay, showing signs of a dangerous chase.

However, SRH quickly pulled things back by dismissing Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in crucial moments. Virat Kohli managed only 15 runs, while Rajat Patidar fought hard with a captain’s knock of 56 runs.

RCB’s biggest partnership came between Rajat Patidar and Krunal Pandya. The duo added 84 runs in 57 balls, keeping Bengaluru alive briefly in the contest. Krunal remained unbeaten on 41 runs, but the required run rate became too high in the final overs.

SRH bowlers showed excellent control during the death overs. Eshan Malinga picked up two important wickets, while Sakib Hussain delivered the key breakthrough of Virat Kohli. Even Travis Head contributed with a wicket, completing a near-perfect night for Hyderabad.

This massive victory now gives Sunrisers Hyderabad huge momentum heading into the IPL 2026 playoffs. Their batting lineup is currently looking unstoppable, with every top-order batter scoring aggressively at strike rates above 170.

For RCB, the defeat exposed serious bowling concerns before the knockout stage. Conceding 255 runs in such a crucial game has now raised major questions about their death bowling and pressure handling under high-scoring conditions.

One thing became very clear after this match — if SRH continue batting like this, they could become one of the strongest title contenders in IPL 2026.
