T20 Mumbai League 2026 Aakash Tigers Crush SOBO Falcons

Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs produced one of the most complete performances of the T20 Mumbai League 2026 season as they outclassed SOBO Mumbai Falcons by 66 runs at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

Led by explosive batting displays from Jay Bista and Ajit Yadav, followed by a disciplined bowling effort from Shashank Attarde and Shams Mulani, the Tigers delivered a statement victory against a Falcons side captained by newly appointed India T20I skipper Shreyas Iyer.

Tigers Batters Set the Tone

After winning the toss and electing to bat, Aakash Tigers wasted no time in taking control of the contest. Openers Jay Bista and captain Sarfaraz Khan launched a fierce assault on the Falcons bowling attack, racing to 50 runs in just three overs.

Sarfaraz played a quickfire knock of 31 runs, peppering the boundary ropes with six fours and a six before being dismissed. However, his departure did little to slow the scoring rate.

Bista continued his aggressive approach and compiled a brilliant 57-run innings. His knock featured eight boundaries and two maximums, providing the perfect foundation for a massive total.

The innings gained further momentum through a crucial partnership between Varun Lavande and Ajit Yadav. While Lavande contributed a steady 35 runs, Ajit stole the spotlight with a breathtaking 68 off just 35 deliveries. His innings included five fours and four towering sixes as he dismantled the Falcons attack during the death overs.

Thanks to these contributions, Aakash Tigers posted an imposing 227/6 in their allotted 20 overs, one of the highest totals of the tournament so far.

Falcons Begin Brightly but Collapse

Facing a daunting target of 228, SOBO Mumbai Falcons needed an explosive start and received exactly that from opener Ishan Mulchandani.

The aggressive batter smashed 40 runs off only 15 balls and dominated the early exchanges. Alongside Aditya Tare, he helped the Falcons build a promising opening partnership and briefly kept the chase alive.

However, the game changed dramatically once experienced spinner Shams Mulani dismissed Tare. The breakthrough triggered a collapse that shifted the momentum completely in favor of the Tigers.

Attarde Spins a Match Winning Web

The standout performer with the ball was Shashank Attarde, who delivered a superb spell of 4/33. The off-spinner consistently troubled the Falcons batters and removed key wickets at crucial stages.

One of his biggest scalps was Shreyas Iyer, who managed only 10 runs before falling to Attarde's clever bowling. His dismissal left the Falcons struggling and under immense pressure.

Mulani complemented Attarde perfectly, finishing with figures of 3/47 and ensuring there was no route back into the contest for the opposition.

Although Harsh Aghav fought hard with a determined 43-run innings, he received little support from the other end. Once Mulani removed him, the chase effectively ended.

The Falcons were eventually bowled out for 161 in 17.5 overs, handing Aakash Tigers a convincing 66-run victory.

A Strong Statement in the Tournament

This victory highlights the growing confidence within the Aakash Tigers camp. Their batting unit showcased power and depth, while the bowling attack demonstrated excellent control under pressure.

For SOBO Mumbai Falcons, the defeat serves as a reminder of the challenges ahead despite having several star names in their squad. They will need a stronger collective effort in upcoming matches.

As the T20 Mumbai League 2026 continues, Aakash Tigers have firmly established themselves as one of the teams to watch, with both their batting and bowling units firing at the right time.
