The CG United Super50 Cup kicks off on 29 October | Eight Teams | One Trophy

The much awaited CG United Super50 Cup 2024 has begun, and Cricket West Indies (CWI) is thrilled to announce that it will take place in Trinidad from Tuesday, October 29, to Saturday, November 23. A key component of our preparation for prospective international tournaments, such as the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup in 2027, is this exclusive List A regional tournament, which serves as a platform for exhibiting the top cricket talent in the area.

The competition was highlighted by Miles Bascombe, Director of Cricket at CWI, in the midst of a busy time for West Indies cricket:

With our senior men just returning from a tour of Sri Lanka and preparing to take on rivals, England, and our Maroon Warriors recently making it to the semi-finals of the Women's T20 World Cup, we are in an exciting and busy time for West Indies cricket. At a pivotal moment, our players can display their skills in the CG United Super50 Cup. Performances here could serve as a launching pad for many players hoping to represent the region as we get ready for the Bangladesh tour. Our development goals as we prepare for the 2027 Men's Cricket World Cup include this tournament as a key component.

He went on:

Since the bonus points system is in line with our KPIs for our ODI performances, we are keeping it in place. We are also interested to observe how the players prepare for this level of competition.
CWI's new Chief Commercial Officer, Rupert Hunter, underlined the importance of the occasion and CG United's backing:

The CG United Super50 Cup is still a vital component of West Indies cricket's growth, giving our players a chance to showcase their abilities in a competitive setting. We are immensely appreciative of CG United's committed assistance, which has strengthened our outlook for cricket's future in the area.

Teams will also be vying for bigger prize money for the second year in a row. The champions will get US$100,000, while the runners-up will get US$50,000. Each of the two semi-finalists will get $25,000.

Fans will be able to witness live matches at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy (BLCA) in addition to the exciting action on the field. The Windies Cricket YouTube channel will broadcast live matches from the Queen's Park Oval (QPO) and the Sir Frank Worrell Cricket Ground at the University of the West Indies Sport and Physical Education Centre (UWI SPEC).

All games at Queen's Park Oval and Brian Lara Cricket Academy have tickets available. While individual day tickets cost TT$20/US$3, fans can purchase a 10-match package for a discounted price of US$20/TT$150. Final tickets are US$15/TT$100, while semi-final tickets are US$8/TT$50.
