Afghanistan A secured a thrilling 4-wicket victory over Bangladesh A in a gripping encounter at the ACC Men's T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024. Led by an incredible unbeaten 95 off 55 balls from Sediqullah Atal, Afghanistan A chased down Bangladesh A's total of 164/4 with 5 balls to spare, earning a crucial win in the Group A contest.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl, Afghanistan A restricted Bangladesh A to a competitive 164/4. Parvez Hossain Emon was the top scorer for Bangladesh, smashing 54 off 32 deliveries, with four boundaries and as many sixes. Towhid Hridoy also contributed an important 42* off 31, accelerating in the latter part of the innings. Despite these efforts, Bangladesh struggled to break free against a disciplined Afghan bowling attack, led by Qais Ahmad (1/26) and Sharafuddin Ashraf (1/9).
