Ashwin, who played a pivotal role in the win with match figures of 5/95, highlighted several critical aspects during the press conference.

One of the major topics Ashwin discussed was the ongoing debate over India's multiple Test venues. He acknowledged the advantages of having several Test centres, particularly in terms of promoting the game in different regions of the country. This inclusivity, he stated, creates opportunities for cricketers from all corners of India to compete at the highest level, fostering a sense of national pride.

However, Ashwin also pointed out the logistical challenges associated with maintaining numerous venues, especially after Day 3 of the Kanpur Test was delayed due to poor drainage. He emphasized the importance of proper facilities, noting that weather and ground infrastructure, such as drainage systems, play a critical role in hosting international cricket.

When asked whether India should adopt a more streamlined approach with designated Test venues, similar to Australia and England, Ashwin remained neutral, suggesting that it was a decision beyond his purview but acknowledged that such a model could help players become more familiar with specific conditions.

Ashwin also reflected on his personal goals, downplaying any milestones like reaching 600 Test wickets. Instead, he stated that his focus is on taking things one game at a time, emphasizing the joy and passion he still has for the game.
