The victory also marked Ireland's first ever T20I win over India and handed the hosts a 1 0 lead in the series.

India's best bowlers:
Harshit Rana – 3 wickets
Arshdeep Singh – 2 wickets

India: 148 All Out (18.5 Overs)

Ireland's leading bowlers:
Matthew Humphreys – Match-winning spell
Jai Moondra – Dream T20I debut with an early wicket
Matt Hollard – Key breakthrough in the middle overs
Result: Ireland won by 34 runs.
Player of the Match: Lorcan Tucker for his match-defining half-century that helped Ireland recover from 51/4 to post a winning total.
After winning the toss, India captain Shreyas Iyer chose to bowl first and his decision looked perfect during the opening phase. The Indian pace attack made early inroads and reduced Ireland to 51 for 4, putting the home side under tremendous pressure.
Harshit Rana continued his impressive run in international cricket by claiming three important wickets, while Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel chipped in with two wickets each. Ireland desperately needed a partnership to stay in the contest, and their captain Lorcan Tucker answered the call in style.
Tucker played a calm yet aggressive knock of 50 and found excellent support from Gareth Delany, who scored a valuable 49. The pair added a match changing 105 run partnership that completely shifted the momentum towards Ireland. Their stand rescued the innings from a difficult position and helped the hosts reach a competitive total of 182 for 9 in 20 overs.
India began the chase positively despite losing Sanju Samson early. Abhishek Sharma took the attack to the Irish bowlers and smashed a quickfire 38 from only 12 deliveries, giving the visitors early momentum.
However, Ireland refused to panic. Debutant Jai Moondra made an immediate impact by dismissing Samson with his very first ball in T20 International cricket. The breakthrough triggered a dramatic collapse as India kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
Ishan Kishan, captain Shreyas Iyer, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar all failed to build meaningful partnerships. Once Abhishek Sharma departed, the required run rate climbed steadily and Ireland tightened their grip on the contest.
Matthew Humphreys produced an outstanding spell during the middle overs, while the Irish bowling unit maintained disciplined lines and lengths throughout the innings. Their relentless pressure forced India into mistakes and prevented any late recovery.
India were eventually bowled out for 148 in 18.5 overs, handing Ireland a famous 34 run victory in front of an ecstatic home crowd.
The result is a landmark moment for Irish cricket as they defeated the reigning world champions for the first time in T20 Internationals. Captain Lorcan Tucker led from the front with a match winning half century, while Gareth Delany's crucial contribution and a collective bowling performance ensured Ireland defended their total successfully.
For India, Harshit Rana impressed with the ball and Abhishek Sharma provided an explosive start with the bat, but the middle order failed to capitalize. Shreyas Iyer's side will now have to bounce back in the second T20I to keep the series alive and avoid a rare bilateral series defeat against Ireland.
