Ruturaj Gaikwad, Batsman of Indian Cricket Team, addressed a press conference at the Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam after the 3rd T20I against South Africa.

“I felt the wicket was slightly better from the last two games, I think it was stopping a little bit batting first I think this wicket was really nice the ball was coming on really nicely so I think nothing I changed nothing my process my thought process you know everything was just the same I felt just the wicket was little bit on the better side from the last two games compared”

“The conversation was just about staying positive because I think we played really well in both the games and if you see you know they were just some crunch moments where they overtook us and they played really well in that moments and they you know make sure they made sure that you know they won those moments against us and overall in general I felt you know both the games we played really well we gave our best but just that you know both the games they batted really well and you know as you can see today we both really well and you know they had a batting collapse so I think sometimes the operation also plays really well and we just you know had hands down to them and they batted really well both the game so I think coming here we were just sticking to what we did in the last two games and just looking to improve as a team and as a group so I think bowling wise we were slightly you know much I would say more aware in the game and more awareness was there in this game so I think that worked for us really well”

“Is not something being reckless or playing rash shots or playing shots out of nowhere I think we all as a batting unit have certain amounts of strength and certain shots that we play as individuals so I think it's just about backing ourselves and you know putting pressure on the bowler that is the main thing you know what he meant was going after was just putting pressure on the bowler just making sure that you know you're showing the intent or you're showing something that you are going after them so it is just about matter of putting pressure on the bowler no matter you're playing first ball or second ball or third ball or you know you're set and even if you are batting on 30 40 it's just that you just have to keep going if it's there in your area if it's there in your strength you have to go for it so that is what is the thinking behind it”

“As for your expectation started a little slow in the IPL then you build up your runs now again first two matches and now you get this 50. his life is a little bit on the edge for you how are you seeing it”

“I would say it is just part and parcel of sport I would say because last year I had a really good year so obviously a lot of people come with lot of expectation when you have such a great year and even in the IPL and even in the domestic so I think in the IPL wickets was slightly you know I would say bowler friendly because there was not much of I would say flat wicket as you say it was bowler friendly where two pest wickets ball was turning there was some swing and all so I think in the IPL two three games or I would say three four games I got out the good balls you know where some dismissals you know good shot went to the into the fielder's hand so I think that is just part of T20 cricket especially you won't have your days every day and you know every week or every month or every year so you're going to have off days and you're going to have really bad days so I think it's just a matter of staying consistent mentally and you know trusting your process and you know just doing that I think coming into the into this series as well as I said first two wickets I felt were slightly on the tacky side so coming here you know good wicket so you know I played my game”

“whatever I heard that the coin was rolling straight so straight and the last moment it fell to their side so but obviously I think toss is just uncontrollable so it is not I i mean personally I don't believe in whatever all those facts are and you know as a team also we don't believe much and we don't rely much on the toss whatever it is you know we have to just take it and you know try and win a game for India”

How does it feel is it how is it noticeably different from the previous series and you know say something of how the last two years affected you the moment?

“I think coming out of bubble one big difference is this press conference you know having it on the digital screen you can say that I can't hear anything or the slight network issue and you can ignore the question but you can't ignore the question here and obviously coming out of bubble obviously there are a lot of fans in this country and so a lot of people are gathering near you so I think this is the first series so obviously everyone is taking time to adjust to it because everywhere we are everywhere we go we are used to you know enclosed at environments where people are not coming towards you and there's distance from all the people so coming out of that you know a lot of people a lot of fans you know coming closer to you and asking a lot of stuff or you know a lot of pictures and all that so there's a lot of attention and I would say there's a lot of distraction as well but I think you know I being in a bubble and being out of bubble has both has pros and cons so I think it's better being in both its better experiencing both and obviously being in mobile it was tough for a longer period of time but then one good thing I felt is the team wanting increased in whichever team I played being for IPL team or being for the Indian team there are a lot of team activities together so I think that does really help and that will stay coming years ahead as well”
