Sarfaraz Khan addressed a press conference at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru after Day 4 of the first IDFC First Bank Test between India vs New Zealand
Sarfaraz Khan’s crucial knock of 150 in India’s second innings against New Zealand was a standout performance on Day 4 of the IDFC First Bank Test at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. His innings provided India a fighting chance after a poor start, recovering from a disastrous first-innings score of 46. Sarfaraz’s patience and aggressive strokeplay allowed India to post a much-improved 462 in their second innings. His ability to counter the New Zealand bowlers, especially on a pitch that was offering variable bounce, kept the game alive. However, despite his efforts, India faces an uphill task as New Zealand needs just 107 runs to win with an entire day left to play.
During the post-match press conference, Sarfaraz spoke about the importance of adapting to the conditions and how the team planned to attack New Zealand in the final innings. He emphasized that patience would be crucial, especially with India’s bowlers needing early breakthroughs. His confidence in the team’s bowling unit was evident, as he expressed hope that the spinners, in particular, could exploit the wearing pitch on Day 5
