UMT Markhors vs Lake City Panthers | Match 11 | Bahria Town Champions Cup

The playoff stage of the Bahria Town Champions One-Day Cup, featuring the Qualifier, Eliminator 1 & 2, and the final, begins tomorrow with UMT Markhors facing Lake City Panthers in the Qualifier. In their previous league match, the Markhors dominated, winning by 160 runs in the tournament opener.

The winner of the Qualifier will advance to the final, while the losing team will play the winner of Eliminator 1 on September 27 in Eliminator 2.

Eliminator 1, scheduled for Wednesday, 25 September, will see Allied Bank Stallions go up against Nurpur Lions. After the 10-match single league round, held from 12 to 22 September at Iqbal Stadium, Faisalabad, the Markhors, Panthers, Stallions, and Lions finished first through fourth, respectively. Engro Dolphins finished fifth, managing just one win in four matches.

The Markhors and Panthers each won three out of four league matches, while the Stallions won two and lost two. The Lions won just one of their four games.

In batting, Kamran Ghulam of the Markhors tops the charts with 247 runs in four matches at an average of 61.75, including two centuries. Stallions’ Babar Azam and Tayyab Tahir are second and third with 230 (76.67 average) and 221 (55.25 average) runs, respectively, each scoring a century.

On the bowling side, Panthers’ pacer Mohammad Hasnain leads with 11 wickets, including career-best figures of 5-74. Stallions’ Jahandad Khan follows with 10 wickets, while Zahid Mehmood (Markhors) and Shaheen Shah Afridi (Lions) are tied for third with nine wickets each.
